Team Works: Building Team Synergy
One Day or Four Hours
This
seminar utilizes a powerful simulation exercise called Desert Survival.
Group members work individually and then in small teams to reach
consensus on Major Problems, Basic Survival Strategy and the survival
value of 16 items. Team members become highly involved in the simulation
which serves as a powerful focus for pre and post exercise discussions.
This
seminar focuses on teamwork, communications, problem solving and
interpersonal skill development. It uses an exercise booklet and
videotape, facilitated discussions and small group work and discussions.
Post session reading material is provided.
The
objectives are to:
- Gain
insight into the nature of problem solving and the dynamics of
decision making
- Demonstrate
the impact of interpersonal behavior on effectiveness
- Demonstrate
the value of synergy in problem solving
- Demonstrate
the differences between team effort and individual effort in decision
making
- Illustrate
the impact of group dynamics on effective decision making/problem
solving
- Offer
an opportunity for individuals to examine their own performance
in such areas as listening, supporting, confronting and rational
problem solving
